It is, however, a reincarnation story in which the MC is reborn as a monster in another worldSpoiler——(a scorpion, which is refreshing!)and has to serve out his ‘sentence’ given to him from Hell.The novel combines perspectives from different characters to build the world on several different levels, from very on-the-ground and restricted understanding from our MC, to greater politics and movements from other characters. I’m not usually a fan of these kind of developments and use of perspective, but I always found the perspective was focused back on MC (which was more interesting to me!) before I got bored.MC is a little bland personality wise, a real neutral-guy character. Kill the bad guys, won’t always save everyone because he’s practical, ect. It’s a little underwhelming to be honest, but I’m willing to overlook it as I’m starting to see some personality development in the later chapters.Fight scenes were written incredibly well. Well scripted and I was able to visualise it very clearly as I read. Fantasy story fights on here often fall into the trap of characters yelling spell names at each other and limited descriptions such as ‘I dodged the strike then attacked.’Welcome to Hell!’ does a great job of painting environments and utilising said environments in its action. Combat is pretty brutal and powering scaling is a done pretty satisfyingly, since everything relies on actual skill and not “Skills” or “Levels”.World building, especially religion had me eye-rolling at the beginning whereSpoiler——one of the main antagonistic forces is a cult believing in a single ‘superior’ godFor reincarnated as a monster fans, you’ll find this series fairly satisfying although suffering from the usual tropeSpoiler——of MC eventually getting himself a human form. In this case, it’s still pretty alien though, and it wasn’t by choice.At the time of this review, the series is still ongoing on Syosetsu, with a bunch in the backlog to be translated (about ~150 chapters) so I’m looking forward to where this is going. < I read a portion of this, but dropped soon after because it was completely different than what I thought even though I read that review. He does get reincarnated as a scorpion but from birth he’s forced into a master servant contract and became a young master’s battle beast companion as he was born from an egg they had. He’s forced into many different tortuous trainings and can’t resist, and trained up for a battle beast tournament. He’ll probably get out of this situation but SpoilerI skipped a bunch of chapters and saw another person ordering him around like a slave so I’m guessing it’ll take a while . He was send back in time after Demon King awakens 3 years later. This time around he resolves to survive the ghost stories and avoid that future.The true charm of this novel is the author's exceptionally immersive writing style and the way he retains the quality of the plot for well over 400 chapters. Partly because some of the ghost stories were based on some real incidents and the author even went to visit the sites so he can better write the scenes.The chapters are long, and the author has put a lot of emphasis on details for every single chapter. A testament to that is chapter 231, which is a whopping 6k words long. The horror and thriller elements were portrayed beautifully and their quality still remains top tier over 400 chapters.There are many plot twists that keep you at the edge of your scenes aside from the vivid horror scenes. Also, the quality of the chapter to the price ratio on Kakao is good for a change.The eerie atmosphere and the high quality remains constant over 400 chapters. Also, the infrastructure of Nakseong High School is based on Danggeok High School. Author went there so he can write the scenes properly. So there is high degree of immersion. There are gore and quite vivid Horror scenes later on which are comparable, widely considered as the best KR horror novel. Also, the way author mixed the overused "regression" and "system" genres together to write such an intriguing content is truly amazing. I liked the protagonist's and other members' mental growth as they complete various ghost story quests and strengthens their bonds.I can go on and on about other positive aspects of the novel, but I will choose to wait for now till more translated chapters come out since I don't want to accidentally spoil some of the great plot twists.Final Verdict: This novel is a must read Thanks for the review. This is a great novel. I recommend reading it.

While the beginning may seem cliché with the main character transmigrating into a weak/ill prince and face slapping others, it is executed well. The novel primarily revolves around a power fantasy, accompanied by intriguing political dynamics and an air of mystery to keep the readers engaged. Plus there's no romance, so my boy can focus on becoming the most op being to ever exist without any pussy distracting him. Have fun reading it

(Some sick Tom & Jerry, you won't fall until you look down shit.)The author introduced a fast leveling scheme for the MC with the MC being able to use it to reach level 10 (The highest level of power in the world) in about two months or so but then abandoned it for no reason other than it being too fast! The MC remained at the same level for two entire months without gaining an ounce of EXP.And instead of expanding his organization by recruiting awakened at this time he just recruited a hundred ordinary people (canon fodder) despite achieving a high level of power, with those at the same level of power (his enemies) having hundreds of elite awakened in their organizations.Then it is revealed that he's able to awaken ordinary people since two months ago, yet he helped non of his loyal subordinates.What else?Yes, he apparently made an enemy out of one of the strongest beings in the world, yet he is still alive and kicking despite the enemy knowing his exact location, and with him being a sitting duck, quite literally. The mc is not cold and calculative who will do anything to survive as depicted in the early chapters..infact the mc suddenly becomes very righteous and has no balls.. just like any other shitty novel out there....Don't be fooled folks as I was It's a well written story until now, it does really resemble Lord of Mysteries in a lot of ways but that isn't annoying or hindering to the story. Tbh it was kinda weird that nobody asked the mc how he got these secret information about a few things but well. Something however that is a lot better in LOM is that the mc could actually protect Himself with his Own Strength not relying on the strength of others, maybe that will change in the future cause the book is far from finished but sine his path is a an observer I can't hope for much. It's still his own power manipulating and tricking others, I know, but it's not as satisfying as dealing with something oneself. Due to my personal preferences I would give it 4/5. This one is good. Nearly perfect mystery novel. My rating is 4.7/5.
