Don't confiscate my identity as a human race

Chapter 206 - 195: Lanci Only Listened to One Public Lecture_1

Whenever the wind blew, the wooden window frame would make a "creaking" sound. The cloth hanging over the small window would tremble slightly, and occasionally, a few drops of rain would fall through the gaps in the material.

In the middle of this dim room, the Great Love Poet was telling a story to Phoenix in her frivolous voice.

"Phoenix, your sister Felice is currently in the school’s infirmary."

"..."

The mere presence of the Great Demon Clan beside him filled Phoenix with immense fear, a fear she seemed to amplify endlessly as if she could manipulate his emotions.

Phoenix naturally knew what the Great Love Poet was referring to.

Felice must have accidentally seen Lanci—who was fighting Adams on screen—mistaken him for the Principal of Purgatory Corridor Academy, and passed out in shock.

The fact that they ran into Lanci’s team on the first day of Ichrite Academy was no accident. He had just received a message that he could intercept his hunting target, so he decided to join in.

After coming back, he would remain in a state of hypnosis in the real world to ensure the success of his identity and mission. He completely forgot everything related to Rebirth Church before he received the awakening command.

He never had the chance to tell his sister about the information he got from the Church.

"Do whatever you want with her."

Phoenix asserted coldly, sounding as if he didn’t care about her well-being at all.

"Hmm."

The Great Love Poet sat on Lanci’s desk and crooked her finger.

Without words, Lanci understood what she meant. He took out a bunch of translucent cards emanating different glows from his Soul Space for her to choose from.

But he didn’t know which Magic Card the Great Love Poet needed.

After picking for a while, the Great Love Poet took out a [Transformation Technique: Demon] card and gave it to Lanci.

Lanci then transformed back into the image of the Radiant Demon that he showed while at Purgatory Corridor Academy.

The Great Love Poet tapped the desk in front of Hyperion, prompting her to remove her disguise and revert back to her original Half-Demon form.

In an instant, the warehouse seemed to have turned into the territory of demons.

"Who’s whose summon in the end?"

Lanci said, somewhat speechless, tucking the Magic Card away.

He even thought that the Great Love Poet was the real perfect creature; as long as her host, Lanci, didn’t die, the Great Love Poet was also essentially immortal. Even if she was defeated, as long as the summon’s cooldown time passed, she could be summoned again.

"Hmm, if I were a Cardmaker and could get your soul material, I would definitely have to make you into some sort of poet and make you my Life Card."

The Great Love Poet hummed smugly and turned her head.

Her talent for card-making was far superior to Lanci’s. It was a pity that she was restrained to the first-order level and could only assist him.

The Great Love Poet then turned her gaze to Phoenix.

"Phoenix, imagine a scenario. Suppose I take Lanci to visit your sister in the hospital later. She has just awoken from the nightmare that scared her unconscious, and she has calmed down a bit, thinking she has returned to reality... Then, in this thunderous and dim rainy day, she sees that even the famously safe Ichrite Academy could allow a living demon like me to freely walk into her ward. The next one to enter the room is none other than the Principal Radiant Demon. What do you think she would do?"

The Great Love Poet smilingly began to paint a scene for Phoenix.

"She would break, wouldn’t she? She definitely would."

The eager expression on the Great Love Poet’s face suggested she was looking forward to trying this out.

Watching Phoenix’s gradually uncontrollable expression and his face, now bulging with veins, the Great Love Poet finally pointed at him and burst into unrestrained laughter.

"Didn’t you say you don’t care about your sister at all? Didn’t you say—’do whatever you want with her’? Why does it look like you can’t sit still now, huh?"

The Great Love Poet mimicked Phoenix’s previous tone, mocking him.

With his emotions amplified, it was easy to see through Phoenix’s intentions.

Initially, he was just pretending not to care about his sister.

With even the slightest hint, the Great Love Poet could easily find the weak spot in a captive’s psychological defense.

"No! You can’t harm my sister, she’s not a member of the Rebirth Church, she has nothing to do with this!"

Phoenix roared in near-collapse.

These demons might not physically harm his sister, but they could fundamentally ruin her!

"I guess you’re thinking that we, virtuous individuals, wouldn’t possibly threaten you with your family... And if your sister’s innocence is confirmed, we wouldn’t harm her..."

The Great Love Poet spread his hands, raised his eyebrows meaningfully, and slowly said to Phoenix,

"But look at us closely now. Are we human?"

The Great Love Poet, grinning widely, stepped aside.

Behind him sat two demons.

Their expressions were indifferent, unconcerned, and aloof. This kind of evil and coldness was only found in the Demon Race.

"...!"

For a moment, Phoenix had a dreadful thought--

It was as if they were no longer in the Royal Capital Ekrite of the Hutton Kingdom.

Rather, it was the demons’ stronghold.

It even led Phoenix to suspect that this country had been corroded and infiltrated by demons...

"How about this, soon the student council will organize a campus event, with the theme of everyone dressing up as demons, hold a carnival, and when your sister wakes up, leaves the hospital, she will find the entire academy filled with demons, and everyone acting like they lost their minds. Imagine that scene, how does it sound? This real-life demon game, let her run first, and when she thinks she is about to escape this nightmare, let Principal Radiant Demon Lanci appear..."

The Great Love Poet continued to tirelessly describe the scenario to Phoenix like a director.

After a while...

"No, don’t say anymore."

Under the Great Love Poet’s words, Phoenix’s mental defenses finally collapsed, and with tears all over his face, he trembled,

"Whatever you say, I’ll agree... Don’t hurt Felice..."

"..."

Not far away, at the table

Hyperion silently turned to look at Lanci.

Lanci was still sipping her tea, listening to the interrogation process of the Great Love Poet with a satisfied expression on her face.

Like a school leader listening to a moral education teacher’s open class in the back of a classroom.

"We saved another lost youth, the merit is full."

Lanci noticed Hyperion’s gaze, turned to look at her, and smiled.

"..."

Hyperion couldn’t respond.

Every second she spent with these two selected demons in the room, she just wanted to quickly go find Tata for some healing.

If Lanci was a pseudo-human, then his Great Love Poet was a real gatekeeper.

The Great Love Poet didn’t even bother with pretense.

But the Great Love Poet and Lanci were also different, at least the Great Love Poet knew about his vile taste, he clearly recognized himself as non-human.

Lanci, however, doesn’t think there’s something wrong with herself.

Hyperion could no longer distinguish who were the good guys and who were the cultists in this room.

She couldn’t imagine how Dean Loren would perceive them when they handed over a reformed, refreshed Phoenix to him tomorrow, or how he would conjecture how cruelly they had transformed this elite believer.
