?Chapter 100: Chapter 99: Mu Lin – Underestimated (updated five times)_1 Chapter 100: Chapter 99: Mu Lin – Underestimated (updated five times)_1 “Want to swap a partner?” Ling Qi looked at Liang Cao, a hint of unexplained mischief in his eyes which sent an uncomfortable chill down Liang Cao’s spine. His response, however, was unwavering as he said, “Yes, sir.” No matter what, he didn’t want to spar with a fragile woman. If he hurt her or made her cry, he didn’t know how to comfort her.

It seemed that in Liang Cao’s mind, Mu Lin… was insignificant. Or perhaps he thought women, in general, were insignificant.

“Switching partners could be an option.” This time, Ling Qi did not reprimand him, and instead seemed quite agreeable. But he did not give an immediate yes, he continued, “If you can beat Mu Lin, I’d let you switch.”

Upon hearing this, Mu Lin’s eyebrows jumped in surprise.

What’s the point of switching after they have already started?

OK, the instructor always has the final say.

Mu Lin wondered, when had she ever felt so… stifled? The main culprit was Jing Chen, the one who tossed her in and then disappeared. Mu Lin felt much more like fighting him now.

“Her?” Hearing Ling Qi’s words, Liang Cao spoke with overt disdain, “Instructor, you’re not joking, are you?” The whole point of his request to switch was that he didn’t want to spar with her.

“Do I look like I’m joking?” Ling Qi replied, his face serious.

Liang Cao: “…”

“As long as you keep your word, Instructor.” Winning against a woman doesn’t mean winning for real, but if he had to beat her first to change his partner, then he would… make it quick to avoid people saying he bullied the newbie, or bullied a woman.

By this point, Liang Cao perhaps forgot that there were no ‘women’ here, there was only Mu Lin; he could look down on women, but he underestimated Mu Lin at his own peril.

Seeing Liang Cao gave in, Ling Qi ceded the floor to the two of them without considering Mu Lin’s opinion. His gaze remained on Mu Lin as he left, full of meaningful implications.

Time to enjoy the show.

Mu Lin raised an eyebrow.

“Relax, I’ll be gentle, considering you’re a woman.” Liang Cao said, looking at Mu Lin.

“Just give it your best shot.” Mu Lin didn’t accept his ‘kind’ offer. She didn’t consider herself very skilled, but surely she was better than some. The man in front of her seemed average at best.

In fact, she believed he couldn’t possibly be better than the two guys from earlier.

Why?

Would there be a need for lackeys if they were that good?

This is Mu Lin’s twisted logic.

For Mu Lin, she didn’t understand the hierarchies of the upper-class society. All she knew was that, whether in modern times or ancient times, in the world or in the jungle, there were only four words that mattered: survival of the fittest.

Just like her friend Qiaozi. He was the boss of the Black Forest; cough… once in a while there would be minor hiccups, like when Qiaozi was saved by Jing Chen’s people. Even bosses face revolts sometimes; no one’s life is perpetually peaceful.

Upon seeing Mu Lin, a look of shock crossed Liang Cao’s face. He didn’t expect that he’d be ignored when he decided to go easy on her out of respect for her being a woman. If that was the case…

Then he really had no need to show mercy!

If he hurt her, it wouldn’t be his fault.
