?Chapter 91: Chapter 90 – So You Just Found Out (One More Update)_1 Chapter 91: Chapter 90 – So You Just Found Out (One More Update)_1 “Are you talking to me?” Mu Lin asked, raising her eyes innocently at Xue Jianbing after returning to her meal when she had received no response. Compared to her reactions just then with Jing Youlan, this was quite expressive.

Instead of getting angry, Xue Jianbing placed himself casually in front of Mu Lin, introducing himself. “I am Xue Jianbing. It’s great to meet you, Little Divine Doctor Mu.”

He was known for not getting along with Jing Youlan’s group since they were young, but he didn’t want to offend Mu Lin. If he could build rapport with her, all the better.

What a pity that Mu Lin seemed uninterested in him. The reason for which was very clear.

Three words: her own choice!

An acolyte, who used to be proud of his own actions, noticed his boss ignoring the drama and initiating warm greetings to a woman whom they had been mocking. He was slightly puzzled. Had his remarks about this girl been too harsh?

Other new and veteran soldiers who were ready to enjoy the scene heard Xue Jianbing’s address towards Mu Lin and began to reflect. Little Divine Doctor Mu? They looked over her attire and were curious – wasn’t she one of the new soldiers? Why was she addressed in such a way?

And Mrs. Cui was also amongst the crowd.

She was originally about to scold someone for purposely wasting food, but when she heard Xue Jianbing addressing Mu Lin, she paused and remained silent on the side. Perhaps, Mu Lin could indeed heal the persistent ailment she have had for quite some time now.

Although Mu Lin was quite well-known out there, her reputation within these walls still needed some bolstering.

However, that probably wouldn’t take too long.

Leisurely eating, Mu Lin finally spoke after hearing what was said under the scrutinizing gaze. “I’ve almost finished eating,” she addressed Jing Youlan and the others “Why are you standing around? Your tummies won’t fill themselves. Or are you trying to starve yourselves for the afternoon training?” If that was the case, she wouldn’t probe further.

The reaction from Mu Lin secretly delighted Yang Yuebin and the others, while Xue Jianbing was left embarrassed, looking foolish.

Observing Xue Jianbing’s state, he resembled one who had tried to flatter someone, but had ended up, metaphorically, kicking the horse instead. He was humiliated to the extreme.

Hearing Mu Lin’s words, Jing Youlan and the others gathered themselves and began to clear the table to get more food. With Mu Lin having saved their face, and since it wasn’t their fault, Mrs. Cui prepared food without a word. She was preoccupied with thoughts of seeking Mu Lin out after the meal which resulted in an increased urgency in her heart.

As for Xue Jianbing, although he had been thoroughly ignored by Mu Lin, his face didn’t change much following the initial moment of discomfort. After a long silence, he sheepishly stood up, looking at Mu Lin. The corners of his mouth still held the smile from before, but the awkwardness was palpable. “It seems that Little Divine Doctor Mu does not like me much. In that case, …” He began to excuse himself, but before he could finish, and to his regret, Mu Lin finally cast her gaze upon him.

“You just figured that out.” A single phrase delivered by Mu Lin left Xue Jianbing unable to retain his façade any longer.
