Chapter 114 - 114 How are you doing
?Chapter 114: How are you doing? Chapter 114: How are you doing? Victoria inadvertently tightened her grip on Arnold’s clothes.
“Promise me that you’ll take good care of yourself and recover,” his breath brushed against her ear again, heating it up, “Don’t make me wait for too long.”
She understood what he meant, and nodded. Then, she lowered her head even more.
Victoria knew very well that it wasn’t fear but rather shyness.
After an unknown period, she stepped out of his embrace and said seriously, “I want to handle the matters of the Brown Group on my own, is that okay?”
For Victoria, there was nothing more important than taking back what her sister and her deserved one step at a time. She would personally cut off Terry Garcia and Clara Brown’s happiness, just like how they ruthlessly destroyed the happiness of her, her sister, and their mother.
“If you lack manpower or funds, don’t force yourself.” Arnold agreed with her.
Victoria smiled, “With a rich master like you, I’ll definitely turn to you for help and not anyone else.”
“Then I can rest assured.” He grinned more wickedly.
Arnold didn’t stay to have dinner with her, because there was an emergency in Tiki Country. After receiving the call, he left on a private plane.
Victoria personally drove him to the private airport.
At their parting, Arnold held her tightly, reluctant to let go, and this feeling of being cared for gradually filled her heart.
Before she knew it, a week had passed. Victoria hadn’t yet welcomed Arnold back, but she received a call from Alexander Mitchell.
“Let’s meet,” Alexander’s voice was rare calm.
Victoria replied, “There’s no point in meeting.”
Alexander said, “I have no other intentions, I just want to sit down and chat with you peacefully.”
Victoria was silent on the other end of the line. For her, Alexander represented the most vague and difficult to understand friendship from her youth. When it came to relationships, Victoria was a very rational person. She didn’t get involved with those she shouldn’t, and absolutely abided by the rules with those she did.
“As friends,” Alexander said again on the phone.
After hearing this, it would seem too pretentious for her to refuse any further.
After asking for his location, Victoria hung up the phone.
The place where Alexander asked her to meet was a coffee house not far from their high school. In front of the coffee house was a canal where school-uniformed boys and girls strolled and laughed during their break time.
Due to the winter break, there were very few people by the canal when Victoria arrived.
Alexander was already waiting for her, having taken off his coat. He was wearing a sweater and jeans, and his beard seemed freshly shaved. Although he still looked thin, his condition appeared much better than the last time she saw him.
Victoria took off her dark green coat, revealing a simple white sweater, navy jeans, and a pair of white sneakers, looking uncomplicated and fresh.
It seemed her hair had grown a bit longer.
This change surprised Alexander and also made him feel heartache.
In his memory, Victoria’s hair had never been this long, even though it had only grown past her ears now.
Seeing her bright eyes and her energetic appearance, Alexander felt both happy and sorrowful at the same time.
Victoria sat down across from him.
Alexander smiled at her, saying, “It’s been a long time since we’ve seen each other. How have you been?”
Even though he could tell from her appearance that she was doing well, he still wanted to hear her confirmation.
“I’m doing very well,” Victoria replied.
Despite experiencing so many things, she had managed to make it through each difficulty safely.
She knew that it was all because of her connection with Arnold.
