?Chapter 84: Chapter 84: Be Honest_1 Chapter 84: Chapter 84: Be Honest_1 Xia Qingtian turned her head only to see Chen Momo, who had already changed her clothes and was looking for her.
She suddenly froze.
Bo Jingyan was still reminding her from the side, “Shen Qing is calling you.”
After he spoke, he began to walk towards Chen Momo.
Xia Qingtian became anxious all at once.
She grabbed Bo Jingyan’s arm, “What… what are you doing?”
“I want to talk to Shen Qing,” said Bo Jingyan as he frowned.
He had encountered Shen Qing looking pitiful in the bar yesterday and hadn’t taken the opportunity to talk to her about divorce, lest it seemed like he was kicking her when she was down.
Now that they had bumped into each other in the mall, it was a good opportunity to settle the issue of divorce.
“Don’t go…” Xia Qingtian’s voice trembled with emotion.
Bo Jingyan looked at her in surprise, a hint of understanding flashing in his eyes.
“Why?”
“Qingtian, are you there?” Chen Momo was trying to locate Xia Qingtian. She was considering calling her when she suddenly heard faint voices coming from behind a row of clothes. It sounded like Xia Qingtian’s voice.
How would Xia Qingtian dare answer?
She wish nothing more than for Chen Momo to be far away from here.
Hearing no response, Chen Momo walked towards the voices, full of doubt.
Hearing the footsteps growing closer, Xia Qingtian glanced at the tall and handsome man before her, her heart pounding in her chest.
She couldn’t let them meet! Not like this!
She tried to pull Bo Jingyan away from there.
But Chen Momo was already drawing nearer.
If they were to leave now, they would definitely run into her face to face.
Just as Xia Qingtian was about to lose her mind with anxiety, a nearby fitting room opened up. It seemed that someone had just left.
“Come with me!”
With that, she grabbed Bo Jingyan by his tie and pulled him into the fitting room.
With the quickest motion, she shut the door of the fitting room.
The space in the fitting room was quite cramped.
Given Bo Jingyan’s size, both of them squeezing into the room meant they were extremely close and could sense each other’s breathing and heartbeat.
Through the thin fabric of their clothes, Xia Qingtian could feel the muscles on Bo Jingyan’s chest.
She rested her hands on his chest, trying to create some distance between them.
“Is it comfortable?” asked Bo Jingyan, a hoarse note in his voice.
At his question, Xia Qingtian felt as if she had intentionally put her hands there to take advantage of him.
She felt her face burn.
“I, I didn’t mean to,” she stammered, her lips trembling, “the room is just too small.”
Bo Jingyan looked down at the girl before him whose face was flushed a captivating pink.
He wanted to tease her a bit.
His eyes darkened slightly.
But he didn’t do anything.
Taking his gaze off her, he diverted the conversation, “You’re hiding from Shen Qing. Why?”
Xia Qingtian tried hard to ignore the masculine fragrance emanating from Bo Jingyan.
She had already figured out an explanation, so she answered his question calmly, “I don’t want Shen Qing to see us together and realize that I’m your cook. I’m afraid that she will misunderstand our relationship like Mr. Bo did.”
“She’s my best friend. I don’t want to lose her!”
Bo Jingyan’s eyes darkened.
“So, you care about my relationship with Shen Qing?” He asked in a deep voice.
Xia Qingtian was taken aback. She didn’t understand how Bo Jingyan arrived at that conclusion.
Seeing that she didn’t respond, Bo Jingyan assumed that she was tacitly agreeing with him.
A gleam of amusement appeared in his eyes.
If Xia Qingtian cared about his relationship with Shen Qing, it showed that she cared about him.
He didn’t want her to get the wrong idea.
“Don’t overthink. There’s nothing between Shen Qing and me other than this legal marriage.”
“We got married three years ago and I haven’t seen her face since. If not for going to the Xia house to find her last time, I wouldn’t even know her face. The only reason I married her is because her mother saved my grandma and my grandma insisted that I marry her.”
“Besides, we’ve started the divorce process. I will divorce her.”
Listening to his indifferent tone, Xia Qingtian’s heart sank.
She looked down at her own toes, feeling rather down, “Do you hate Shen Qing a lot?”
“Like or dislike doesn’t matter. To me, she’s just an unimportant stranger,” said Bo Jingyan, his expression one of icy indifference.
Turns out Bo Jingyan didn’t like her at all.
The realization made Xia Qingtian feel a bit teary-eyed.
Suddenly, she wanted to cry.
She tried to swallow her feelings and pulled herself together, “There’s no need to explain to me; it has nothing to do with me.”
A frown appeared on Bo Jingyan’s face.
What does she mean by it has nothing to do with her?
He was about to say something, when suddenly…
Xia Qingtian’s phone rang.
She took out her phone and saw it was Chen Momo calling. She hesitated, wondering whether to answer or not.
Knock knock knock…
The fitting room door was suddenly knocked on.
Chen Momo’s voice rang out again, “Qingtian, are you in there?”
She had looked everywhere and couldn’t find Xia Qingtian, so she decided to call her.
Unexpectedly, she heard a ringtone coming from a fitting room.
Xia Qingtian was startled.
“Yes, it’s me,” she responded immediately.
“What are you doing in the fitting room? Open the door…” Chen Momo said.
How could Xia Qingtian possibly open the door?
If she did, wouldn’t Chen Momo and Bo Jingyan come face to face?
How could she distract Chen Momo?
“What should we do now?” The nervous Xia Qingtian started sweating profusely.
Bo Jingyan, instead of answering her question, looked at her clear eyes and said, “I just saw your incoming call display…”
Incoming call display?
Xia Qingtian stilled.
She looked down at her phone.
The screen showed the caller ID:
Momo!
“Why do you call Shen Qing, Momo?” Bo Jingyan inquired, his eyes dark.
Xia Qingtian’s heart pounded.
“Momo is her nickname! It’s what we used to call her when she was a baby!” she made up an excuse quickly.
As Chen Momo didn’t receive a response for a long time, she feared that something had happened to Xia Qingtian in the fitting room so she found a store attendant, intending to forcibly open the door.
It’s over!
It’s over!!!
Her long-guarded secret would no longer be a secret.
It was better for her to confess now, so as at least to spare herself the pain of having her lies discovered.
She could only hope that for the sake of all the meals she had cooked for Bo Jingyan, he would go easy on her.
“Bo Jingyan, I…” Xia Qingtian raised her head to look at Bo Jingyan, ready to confess.
