A few moments later Shun Long turned his gaze towards the far east of the continent before he glanced at Liu Mei and said

''Mei'er, are you ready to go back?''

Liu Mei nodded unhesitantly, a rare, dazzling smile adorning her peerlessly beautiful face as she answered

''It's been so long since we returned to the Desolate East. I just hope nothing has changed since then.''

Of course, Shun Long knew that what Liu Mei was talking about was the endless, immutable chaos governing the islands of the mortal world.

After all, the lives of mortals were much shorter than those of cultivators, so surviving in the mortal world was a constant, unending struggle. In a sense, Shun Long knew that it was even more dangerous for someone to live in the mortal world than the cultivation world.

After all, most kingdoms in the mortal world were governed by either peak rank 9 Earth-grade cultivators or even Heaven-grade experts. Since resources in those places were heavily limited, those cultivators who ruled over a kingdom would often look to expand their influence to the nearby kingdoms as well.

Then, under the relieved gazes of the spectating Dao Kings gathered at the heart of the 'Golden Shield city', both he and Liu Mei stepped into that space rift, before they vanished from the skies above the city.

Although the 'Night star continent' was a massive continent, especially when it was compared to places like the Desolate East, Shun Long knew that it was only a small speck of dust compared to the northern region of the central continent, let alone the entire central continent as a whole.

It only took him and Liu Mei a single space rift to reach the other edge of the continent and arrive in the 'Snowcloud country', the final bastion that separated the 'Night star continent' from the sea that connected it to the Desolate East.

Just like the last time they'd been here, Shun Long and Liu Mei were once again surrounded by the snowy landscape that spanned as far as the eye could see.

In the distance, a large city that was fully covered in snow could be seen standing as well, situated by the shore of the continent similar to the 'Golden Shield city'.

However, the royal capital of the 'Snowcloud country' was simply incomparable to the small city at the other edge of the continent. Whether it was the size of its city walls or the city itself, this royal capital made the 'Golden Shield city' seem like a small town in comparison.

And yet, Shun Long simply ignored the familiar city and opened up another space rift, before he and Liu Mei disappeared from the snowy country.

A few moments later, a handsome azure-robed young man and an unbelievably beautiful white-robed woman appeared in the Lightning Wasteland of the Desolate East once more... after more than a decade since their last visit here.

Just like the last time, the barren land hadn't changed in the slightest.

It was just as Shun Long remembered it; a vast, forsaken place completely devoid of any signs of life.

After taking a look around him, Shun Long shook his head before he turned his gaze towards the far east.

He only needed one more space tear, before he and Liu Mei arrived at the 'Floating Cloud sect' and returned to the mortal world once more.

Without any hesitation, Shun Long slashed the air in front of him, as he and Liu Mei both vanished from the 'Lightning Wasteland'.

The journey through the Desolate East was much faster this time compared to the previous one, and in the blink of an eye, Shun Long and Liu Mei had already arrived in front of the barrier that separated the mortal world from the cultivation world.

This time, the two of them didn't pay a visit to the 'Floating Cloud sect', but even from a distance away, Shun Long could tell that his old sect had now turned into a shell of its former self.

The number of outer court disciples had dwindled significantly after Liu Mei's last visit, essentially crippling the sect's foundations.

And yet, after covering the entire sect with his soul sense, Shun Long couldn't help but smile as he saw his old friend, Fu Li, still enjoying his life of luxury.

''Maybe I should pay this fatty a visit before I return to the central continent.''

With that same smile on his face, Shun Long then shattered the barrier of the mortal world, as he and Liu Mei flew towards the mortal islands below them.

With Shun Long's current spiritual strength, it wasn't hard to cover an entire island and isolate the 'Roaring Waves Kingdom' where his parents and Liu Mei's mother lived. In fact, he could even cover a dozen of these islands simultaneously and not feel any strain.

After his soul sense scanned the familiar royal capital, Shun Long quickly focused on a relatively large house at the heart of the city.

The home his parents purchased a few years ago had changed a bit, but Shun Long didn't care a bit about its appearance. Instead, he focused on the four people sitting in the main hall.

One of them was a beautiful middle-aged woman whose facial features looked a lot like Liu Mei's. She was dressed in plain white robes that one could pick from any random shop in the mortal world, but despite their plain appearance, her robes couldn't conceal the woman's mature, otherworldly beauty.

The other one was a young girl around 12 years old. She had a cute face looking at the beautiful middle-aged woman with pleading eyes, as if she was begging her for something.

However, Shun Long only paid the young girl and Liu Mei's mother a single glance before quickly focusing on the other two people inside the hall.
